Many online have posted that Mary Burkett of Chowan Co NC, wife of John Cake, was daughter of Thomas Burkett and Mary Evans. From what I can see, I don't believe this is possible.
1) To have son John by 1729, she would have been before 1715, and most likely earlier.
2) Mary Evans wouldn't have been born any earlier than 1710, or later, if mother Mary Luten was born c.1698 - perhaps Mary Luten was born earlier.
3) Thomas died c.1730-4 based on to Thomas Wallis, and so their children would have been born between 1725 and 1734

However, there are two 1721 deeds naming Thomas Burkett and wife Mary. Maybe a different couple or maybe they were married earlier despite 1725 deed.

Instead of Mary being daugther of Thomas, what about sister? The dates would be more plausible.
